Prof. Nan CHEN
Professor, Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Professor Chen Nan graduated from the Department of Probability and Statistics at Peking University in 1998, and he received his M.Sc.degree in Probability and Statistics in 2001 at Peking University, his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in 2006 at Columbia University, USA.  He joined the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006. His research expertises are FinTech and Financial Engineering, Monte Carlo simulation, and Applied Probability.

Prof. Chen served as associate editor for Operations Research Letters from 2007 to 2008. He is now an associate editor of flagship journals in the area, such as Operations Research, Mathematical Finance, International Review of Finance, and Digital Finance and has chaired/been a member of the program committees of several international conferences on quantitative finance and Monte Carlo simulation.

Prof. Chen now serves as director of the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Financial Technology at CUHK. The program is the first of its kind in Hong Kong to offer a comprehensive undergraduate education in FinTech.He is also the director of the Master of Science Program in Financial Engineering at CUHK Shenzhen. In public service, Prof. Chen is a member of the Payment Systems and Stored Value Facilities Appeals Tribunal and a panel member of the Insurance Appeals Tribunal in Hong Kong. He also serves as a member of the Engineering Panel of the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC).
